Smart Trike 1560811 Deluxe Baby to Toddler Tricycle - Green Review

My father bought this product from Amazon for my 15-months-old son, who loves it. We even use it instead of a stroller sometimes. It is comfortable, offers good protection for the toddler with the bar that goes around the waist, where he can also place his hands. I would rate the product 4.5 stars, if I could, because some of the elements of this trike do not fit well. For example the above mentioned protective bar does not stay attached to the steering wheel. It detaches itself and after a few attempts to keep it in position, I gave up. That does not seem to cause any problem though. Putting the trike together is a bit of a chore, especially when you have to attach some of the belts to the bottom of the seat and then, screw the seat to the frame, etc. We followed the instructions carefully and were still left with a belt piece, which we can't figure out where to attach. On the positive side, having separate belts around the baby's waist and over the shoulders is a really good way of protecting him/her from tipping over.
The design of the bike is really nice, the padding materials are comfortable. The plastic seems a little poorly made though. We get positive comments wherever we go with it. It is a new product, I think, and people want to know where we got it from.
The only other negative feature is that the child's foot can get caught between the pedals and the steps. It took a couple of accidents for my son to learn that he can't leave his feet hanging in between the two, because they get caught and squished a little. The steps are very easy to fold and put away, but difficult to open and place down for the child to use.
Overall, a very nice trike, which we use almost daily.
